After the Chinese company Sinovac donated 50,000 doses of its vaccine against covid-19 to Conmebol, the immunization of professional soccer teams began in Paraguay, a determined support for the Copa América and other supported competitions by the entity.
The vaccination, according to the South American Soccer Confederation (Conmebol), will be focused on the main teams of South American professional soccer in the men's and women's first-category tournaments.
The Paraguayan government news agency highlighted that the Paraguayan Football Association is the first entity of its kind to vaccinate its referees, players, technicians and assistants against COVID-19.

Conmebol bets on a safer America's Cup
The president of Conmebol, Alejandro Domínguez, highlighted in his Twitter account that the campaign will be extended to the member countries of the bloc and that the operation will allow the development of a safer America's Cup.
This tournament will be played between June 13 and July 10 in Argentina and Colombia.
"If we stick together, we will defeat the pandemic!" Emphasized the head of Conmebol.

Domínguez thanked the efforts of the President of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, whose government mediated before Sinovac Biotech Ltd. "No other confederation in the world has until today managed to have the doses to start a massive vaccination process," according to the official page of the Conmebol.
In Paraguay, according to figures from the Ministry of Health, 144,150 people out of a population of about 7 million inhabitants had been vaccinated as of Thursday.
