Corona in the municipal council: Mayor apologizes in video
At a local council meeting at the end of April, five council members had been infected with the corona virus.
It is unclear whether viewers are also affected.
There were about 15 citizens in the hall at the meeting.
Some test results from the municipal council members are still pending, so the number of infected people can still rise.
Besel says that he tests himself regularly.
Mayor after Corona outbreak: "I am sincerely sorry for my mistake."
A few days ago, Besel had fended off criticism of the hygiene concept in the municipal council meetings, which caused him a lot of resentment.
In particular, he was accused of having not insisted on wearing masks at the seat.
So now Besel rowed back and apologizes in detail.
"I'm really sorry for my mistake."
"I am really shocked by the consequences of this failure," he explains.
The outbreak contributed to the increase in incidence in the district.
That hits him "with full force".
He is fully aware of the consequences of the increasing number of infections.
He will now put the further work in the local council "to the test" with regard to hygiene.
