Hong Kong Customs yesterday (6th) inspected an air express cargo that was transferred from Afghanistan to Australia via Hong Kong and reportedly contained women’s clothing at the Hong Kong International Airport. It found that the contained 44 pieces of clothing were suspicious, including a sour taste and relatively ordinary texture. The clothes are hard and heavy.
After an in-depth inspection, it was discovered that the batch of clothes contained suspected heroin, weighing about 12 kg, and the estimated market value of the drug was about 15.8 million yuan.
The Customs believes that the criminals infiltrated liquid heroin into the clothing in order to avoid customs inspection.

The customs stated that it will continue to use intelligence analysis, risk assessment and international cooperation to step up the interception of drug trafficking activities using postal or express channels.
According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in dangerous drugs is a serious crime. Once convicted, the maximum penalty is a fine of 5 million yuan and life imprisonment.
