A 77-year-old farmer, Francesco Dessena, was killed late yesterday evening in the countryside of Nule, in the Sassari area.
The man was shot dead in the face.
The children found the body in the sheepfold owned by him: not having seen him return home, they went to the farmland and found him lying on the ground.
The carabinieri of Bono's company and the Operational Department of the provincial command, the deputy prosecutor of Nuoro, Giorgio Bocciarelli, and the coroner intervened on the spot.
The victim is in no way attributable to the most recent bloody events in the town and the entire area of the Goceano, a historic region of Sardinia on the border between the province of Sassari and the province of Nuoro.
