The hands-on campaign “By bike to work” has started again.

The Freising district is hoping for as strong a participation as in 2020.

- cycling is one of the healthiest sports and can be easily integrated into everyday life.

The hands-on campaign “By bike to work” proves this anew every year.

Since May 1st, working people can start an active summer again this year with the health campaign of the AOK and the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC).

Participate in the home office too

The aim of the hands-on campaign is to cycle to the company or from the home office for at least 20 working days from May to the end of August.

"Corona is also influencing our campaign this year: We are therefore continuing the rules of the game from last season so that employees can also participate in the home office," emphasizes Ingeborg Goss-Schwarzenberg from AOK Freising-Erding.

Those who do not cover a distance to work can enter the number of kilometers cycled around their home office in the online cycling calendar.

"Commuters can also take part in the campaign, as cycling to the train station or commuter parking lot is already counted," said Goss-Schwarzenberg.

Register online now

Registration is possible at www.mit-dem-rad-zur-arbeit.de. Until September 18, participants can enter their cycling days online in the so-called action calendar. The personal services for each participant can be accessed at any time via the online portal, with data protection: How many kilometers have I cycled on how many days so far and how many calories have I burned as a result?

Anyone who maintains their campaign calendar with the bike days at www.mit-dem-rad-zur-arbeit.de has the chance to win one of the many sponsored prizes from well-known campaign partners, which are raffled off every year among the successful participants.

The prices include e-bikes and practical accessories for bicycles.

The profits are donated by companies and are not financed from contributions.

The DGB Bayern and the Association of Bavarian Business (vbw) support the joint initiative of ADFC and AOK in the Free State.

Both partners have been there from the start.

The vbw supports the initiative financially.

Almost 1000 employees from 787 companies

“By bike to work” ended in 2020 with a record: the hands-on campaign in Bavaria attracted around 73,600 people - over 3,000 more cyclists than in the previous year, more than ever before.

Almost 1,000 employees from 787 companies took part in the Freising district.

The main regional prize - a bicycle, of course - was won by Belinda Fertl from Moosburg.

Monika Schluttenhofer from Freising and Michael Guyens from Haag could look forward to bike bags and Isolde Schlegel from Freising won a large calendar “Germany's most beautiful long-distance cycle paths”.
