Since its establishment, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (Academy) has been committed to optimizing and developing new courses, actively developing the second to fourth level of the qualifications framework, and gradually implementing the blueprint of the "Construction Industry Vocational Development Plan" to provide young people aspiring to join the construction industry. Provide a "through-train" perfect linkage mechanism and professional talent development ladder to assist them in the dual-track development of skills and academics to become knowledge-based technical talents, grasp the development opportunities of "Construction Industry 2.0", and promote the sustainable development of the construction industry.

Improving the connection ladder and integrating innovative technology

According to the "Construction Industry Vocational Development Program", the college took the lead in launching the optimized one-year full-time "Certificate of Construction" course (providing 8 subjects, all of which have obtained the second level of the QF) and "Diploma of Construction" in the 2021/22 academic year "Courses (providing 10 subjects, of which 6 subjects have achieved the third level of the QF), and plan to launch an optimized two-year full-time "Advanced Diploma" course in the 2022/23 academic year, and provide construction diploma graduates A new part-time "Professional Diploma in Construction-Specialized Industry" ⁺⁺ course that can be advanced to the university.

The college has a building information simulation (BIM) innovation and development center to provide students with innovative technology training.

The optimized "Construction Certificate" and "Construction Diploma" courses, in addition to technical training and related theoretical knowledge, will also incorporate the latest technology applications and knowledge in the construction industry, such as "MiC-Modular Integrated Construction", Building Information Modelling (BIM-Building Information Modelling), Internet of Things (IoT-Internet of Things), etc.; it also includes whole-person development elements and basic ability subjects to improve students' communication skills, professional ethics, safety ethics, and technology applications. Dual-track development fosters industry managers

The optimized "Construction Certificate" and "Construction Diploma" graduates can simultaneously take part-time advanced courses and participate in the two-year "Recognized Technical Professionals Training Program" to achieve dual-track development of skills and academics, with the goal of becoming an industry leader. In terms of skills upgrading, the "Approved Technical Professional Training Program" is an apprenticeship program provided by the college and partner employers for graduates. Through systematic on-the-job training, combined with the college’s technical assessment, safety training, soft power and even innovation and technology elements The strength consolidation program of etc. effectively trains young graduates to become knowledge-based senior technicians.

The monthly salary of the program ranges from HK$14,000 to $24,500 in the first year, and from HK$18,000 to $26,500 in the following year^.
