"We have taken note of it," said Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG), but the administration's proposal will not be implemented.
Even at the preliminary meeting in the daycare committee, it was agreed that such a price increase was currently not feasible.
"The district office certainly understands that we cannot make such an increase in the current situation, where many people do not know how their work will continue," said Streu, reminding them that for the same reason also did not touch the tax rates.
Kindergarten fees are relatively high, day nursery fees on average
Despite a deficit of around one million euros in 2020, there will be no fee increase.
Most recently, the hourly rate for the kindergartens was 1.65 euros - “compared to the surrounding communities, we are very high by far,” admitted Streu.
In the case of the crèche, on the other hand, the average is 2.50 euros.
In future, the fees will be calculated according to fixed booking groups.
This makes the work in the administration much easier, because software can be used for this, whereas up to now a separate Excel table has been kept for each child.
The administration has calculated and rounded mean values for the individual booking groups.
In kindergarten, for example, four to five hours are due for the lowest category, 153 euros, in day nursery 200 euros for up to four hours.
Vacancies will not be filled
In the after-school care center, the hourly rate was raised from 1.70 to 1.90 euros in 2020.
In the future, an average will also apply - for three to four hours, for example, 138 euros.
A 20 percent increase is also waived in this area, "because then we would be well above the average of other municipalities or providers," says Streu.
He also emphasized: "We still have to be clear that we have to turn the screws where this is possible - and that is the key to employment." So they have not filled vacancies and want to achieve a certain value in the future continue like this.
Potential savings in opening times
The merger of Kindergarten Villa Regenbogen and Crèche Villa Rappelkiste to form a children's house is expected to have a big effect. If there is now a full-time manager, “then we have the synergy effect because that can be reduced to just one managerial position. This gives us the opportunity to take countermeasures, ”said Streu.
There is also potential for savings in the opening times.
The houses are usually open on weekdays until 4.30 p.m., the day-care center until 5 p.m.
On the recommendation of the management, in future it will only be open until 3 p.m. on Friday, and until 3:30 p.m.
The reason: Recently, on some Friday afternoons, there were hardly any children, but there were enough staff.
The shorter opening hours are now being tested.
Perhaps, depending on demand, a long-term group could also be offered in the future - but then only in a children's home, says Streu.
