Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Rawanji, renewed his country's demand to compel the Israeli enemy entity to join the Chemical Weapons Treaty and abide by it and not discriminate in its implementation.
"Actions and decisions based on political goals weakened the power and prestige of a treaty and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons," Takht Rawangi said in a speech during a session of the United Nations Security Council yesterday via video, calling for redoubling efforts to implement the treaty worldwide and force the Zionist entity to join it as well as achieve the basic goal. For the treaty to destroy chemical weapons, which was not achieved due to the failure of the United States to abide by its obligations.
Takht Rawanji described the Western decision that was passed against Syria in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons recently as “biased and inconsistent with the provisions and objectives of the treaty,” explaining that this measure is a flagrant retreat from the principles of neutrality and professional activity in the organization and has negative repercussions in the field of disarmament.
