The fourth dimension of time

Basic trend or temptation of the moment? Watches, by definition already cut to stand the test of time, also pride themselves on being more and more durable.


It is known, eternity lasts a long time, especially towards the end.

But what end are we talking about, when it comes to a watch?

Do you know of another technical creation capable of operating for decades, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and without losing much in terms of precision?

By their existence and their functioning, watches mark the fourth, relative dimension in which we are all immersed: time.

It is moreover this fourth dimension that the American artist Michael Murphy recently explored on behalf of Jaeger-LeCoultre, by imagining a horological anamorphosis, exhibited at the Watches and Wonders trade fair in Shanghai.

This collaboration will have enabled the artist to realize his project of creating a work that expresses time.
