There is a second group for crèche children at Gut Biberkor.
Creating the prerequisites for this was significantly more expensive than planned: the renovation of the children's home cost around 1.5 million euros.

- The result is undoubtedly beautiful. The light from the skylights bathes the room in brightness even on this dull day. Warm colors and small furniture make the converted and extended upper floor of the children's home of the Montessori Association at Gut Biberkor a place where small children feel welcome. The 40 kindergarten children who are looked after by the Montessori Association in the children's house have meanwhile occupied the upper floor. The two groups for the total of 24 crèche children from zero to three years are on the ground floor. The increase was necessary to make room for the second group of cribs. It has been in operation since mid-April, and as the educational director Susanne Hartmann says, it was very easy for the new children to get used to. Also thanks to the construction site during ongoing care operations:“We stood there and watched it,” she says at the unofficial inauguration of the new rooms.
In general, the construction work apparently went well. Hartmann reports that the construction workers had taken great care of the midday rest and the needs of the children. The managing director of the Montessori Association Gut Biberkor, Christoph Borchardt, adds that there were no problems with recruiting - three pregnant colleagues had to be replaced. “On April 1st we had all 13 employees together. We were lucky because there is a blatant shortage of support staff. "

Originally, one million euros was assumed for the increase and creation of accessibility.
Now there are 1.539 million.
The municipality will take on almost 600,000 euros of this, the Free State around 650,000 euros.
The rest of the work is borne by the Montessori Association.
Borchardt had previously attributed the enormous increase to tenders that far exceeded expectations.

“In some cases we didn't get any offers at all,” says project manager Michael Graf.
For the 1.53 million euros, the children in the children's home now have rooms and toilets on the upper floor, an elevator and two escape routes.
One is complemented by a spiral slide, which the children particularly like.
It is a blessing for the community that the Montessori Association has taken care of the crèche places. Mayor Rupert Steigenberger thanks Borchardt, his colleague Johann Dullinger, the architects involved and the employees. In order to meet the growing need for childcare places, the municipality is considering setting up a forest kindergarten. But: “We still don't have a suitable area,” he says. "We stay tuned."
