Herrsching - The first day on the meadow instead of in the stable, so to speak the first day in freedom - four young bulls from Andechs took that a little too literally on Wednesday morning.

They went from the pasture and went on a trip to Herrsching - to Susanne Bauer's garden on Edelweissstrasse.

The 45-year-old teacher at Gilching Middle School could hardly believe her eyes when she looked out the window shortly before 10 a.m. “I have only seen three people talking excitedly in my courtyard,” she reports in an interview with Starnberger Merkur. "Then I looked through another window and saw a cattle in the garden." Then another and another and another. “We have guests,” said daughter Eva (14), who was at home because of the alternating lessons.

Apparently the young bulls had sought refuge from the rain - and had come from the street through the narrow garden gate into the garden of the Bauer family.

The small shed, in which, among other things, firewood is stored, was too small for the four youngsters.

They then huddled under the wild plum trees on the Thujen hedge.

“They stood there like children,” says Susanne Bauer.

The 45-year-old called the police, who in turn informed the farmer (65) from Andechs, who was already looking for his animals.

A short time later everyone was on Edelweissstrasse - and the cattle apparently happy that the adventure was coming to an end.

“You were on the trailer within a minute,” says Susanne Bauer.

"Somehow they thought it was funny too."

You and your daughter Eva are still inspired by the experience.

For the 14-year-old, it was "the most exciting visit in Corona times".

And Susanne Bauer says: “That made us feel better all day.” The story also made the rounds in the neighborhood.

"The whole Strittholz was happy."

Nobody was injured - and maybe the three people from the beginning who may have stopped the animals had their part in that.

The police already feared that the young bulls would run towards the state road.

Apparently they had walked from Andechs through the forest and then along Strittholzstrasse before visiting the Bauer family on Edelweissstrasse.
