Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for an urgent session of the Security Council in light of the escalating terrorism of the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people.

Wafa news agency reported that Abbas called on the international community to assume its full responsibilities to stop the Israeli aggression on Jerusalem and provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and directed Palestine's permanent representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, to request an urgent session of the UN Security Council to implement its decisions related to Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Abbas said, "The oppression and terror of the settlers will only increase our insistence on adhering to our legitimate rights to end the occupation, gain freedom and independence, and establish an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty." .

Dozens of Palestinians were injured and others were arrested this evening as a result of the escalation of the attacks of the occupation forces and their storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as it accelerated its Judaization steps in occupied Jerusalem, the most recent of which was the attempts to evacuate dozens of Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood with the aim of giving them to settlers.
