Former Hong Kong Secretary General Huang Zhifeng and Tsuen Wan District Councilor Shun Aohui were sentenced to prison by the court on May 6 for participating in an unauthorized assembly.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken posted a message on social media Twitter on the same day, calling for their release.

Brinken posted on Twitter: "The United States stands with the people of Hong Kong and refuses to accept that social activists have been sentenced for attending the Tiananmen Square commemorative event."
He urged that all those who are imprisoned for the non-violent exercise of their rights to protected freedom should be released immediately.

The stake held a June 4th candlelight party in Victoria Park in June 2020. It was held without the approval of the police during the epidemic. Afterwards, many people were charged with participating in unauthorized assembly. There were 24 defendants, including Huang Zhifeng, Cen Aohui, and Southern District. Councillor Yuen Ka-wai and Kwun Tong District Councillor Leung Kai-ching pleaded guilty. The judge sentenced Huang Zhifeng to 10 months’ imprisonment on May 6 and the other 3 to 4 months to six months.
