Variant viruses have flowed into Hong Kong. The government has set up dozens of places for mandatory testing. There are long queues in community testing centers. The sample collection kits are "hard to find". Some people are even arrested for reselling them for profit.
A reporter from "Hong Kong 01" arrived at Prince Edward Station this morning. All the sample collection kits were dispatched at 9 o'clock. Some citizens came to the station to collect the box. The staff of the nearby store pointed out that there was already a queue at 6 o'clock this morning.
The police recently arrested a man on suspicion of theft in Prince Edward for using multiple Octopus at Prince Edward Station to collect a large number of sample collection kits for profit.
At 8:45 this morning, the MTR mobile application still showed that there was a sample collection kit available at Prince Edward Station, but "Hong Kong 01" arrived at the station at 9 AM and was dispatched in full, and there was also a notice in Prince Edward Gate that there was no collection kit.
An employee of a nearby convenience store pointed out that when I went to work at 6 a.m., there were people lining up to pick it up. "Most of them don't have them before 8 o'clock. There may be a few packages at 8 o'clock, but they must be free after 9 o'clock."
She said that in the past two days, "there was a long queue." Today, the situation has improved, but there are still many people.
By about 10:15 in the morning, the MTR mobile application showed that all sample collection packages at MTR stations were dispatched.
Ms. Ouyang lives in Rainbow, and she deliberately took a detour to Prince Edward Station to take the air out in order to sample the collection bag for her family.
She said that her family had checked the MTR mobile app first, which showed that Prince Edward Station still had a collection bag before coming here deliberately, "Wait for me to log out."
She said that there was a long queue at the post office of Caiyun Village this morning, and she learned later that it was a collection bag.
She pointed out that in the past, the supply of collection kits was sufficient, but in the afternoon they were still in stock at the MTR station. She believed that some people reselled the sample kits, "it’s too tight, and some people have to go back to work for inspection."
The husband wearing a face mask did not want to be named. He would be tested for the virus on his own when he was appointed. In the past, he would go to the community testing center to take samples directly. Submit it in a few days to save time.
He scolded some people for holding a large number of Octopus to get the collection bag and then sell it, "Catch it, (the person who resells it) is going to catch it."
He couldn't get the collection bag today, he said, "Maybe it will be lined up again at 5 o'clock on the day."
