In Bavaria, new rules have come into force that give those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated more freedom.

But who now belongs to the groups?

We clarify.

Munich - Since yesterday, Thursday (May 6), several new relaxations have been in effect throughout the Free State of Bavaria - at least for those who are either vaccinated or have recovered from Corona * diseases.

According to the current rules, these people are allowed to go shopping or to the zoo, for example, without having to present a negative corona test.

But when is it considered recovered and when is it vaccinated or tested?

We give you an overview:

Corona in Bavaria: When are you considered recovered, vaccinated or tested?

  • Recovered:

    According to the Bavarian Infection

    Protection Ordinance

, a person is considered to have recovered if they can present a positive PCR test that is at least 28 days old but not earlier than six months. The result must therefore be kept well. It can be presented in digital or paper form. The proof of recovery is only valid with a PCR test and not with a rapid or antibody test.

  • Vaccinated:

All people who have been vaccinated for the second time with a corona vaccine approved in the EU such as Biontech *, Moderna *, Astrazeneca * or Johnson & Johnson * (only once at J&J) are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the vaccine was administered . Even people who had a Covid infection more than six months ago and were vaccinated once are considered fully vaccinated 15 days after the vaccination. It is important to have proof of vaccination with you - whether in the form of a paper vaccination pass or as a digital version as in the Ebersberg district *.

  • Tested:

A negative corona test * must be available for visits to zoos, shops outside of daily needs or in the beer garden

This applies to all people who do not belong to the groups mentioned above.

The test must not be older than 24 hours and must come from an official test station.

The result must be available to the tested person in digital or written form.

When presenting, you must show your ID.

Corona virus in Bavaria: These relaxations apply from now on

As mentioned above, the relief applies to the group of convalescent and vaccinated persons. Specifically, this means that the curfews will no longer apply to them at night. These people are no longer counted in the contact restrictions. In addition, vaccinated or recovered travelers are no longer subject to quarantine when entering Bavaria. However, what regulations apply in the respective holiday country must be clarified in advance.

However, there are still a few things to consider for those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated: When visiting hospitals or care facilities, a negative PCR or antigen test must still be present, no longer than 48 hours.

Furthermore, the two groups of people must wear a mask wherever they are required to do so.

The distance rule does not disappear either.
