The prospects for the weekend: The volume of traffic is likely to increase with the temperatures.

The mayors in Isarwinkel unanimously appeal to visitors to use the official parking spaces.

In many places, fee increases were recently decided for them.

But what exactly is currently applicable where?

An overview:

Lenggries

The municipality of Lenggries has decided to lease 14 hiking parking spaces from the state forests between Hohenwiesen and the state border, to manage them and to charge parking fees there. According to Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher, the corresponding parking fee statutes have been in force since May 1st - but the parking machines have not yet been set up, so almost all parking spaces can still be used free of charge. "I'm afraid that the machines will not be operational before the end of June," said the town hall chief.

The new fees are due - 3 euros up to 6 hours (previously: 2), 5 euros for the whole day (previously: 3) - so currently only where parking machines were previously located: in the Hohenburg hiking car park and in the car park in Case.

According to Klaffenbacher, there are now height restrictions so that only cars can drive into the parking lot.

On the small part that is designated as night parking for campers, the night costs 10 euros.

Jachenau

The municipality of Jachenau on the south bank of the Walchensee works according to the same principle: It leases parking spaces from the State Forests and then charges a parking fee of 5 euros per day. Here, too, the parking machines are not yet available, so currently only the 5 euro toll has to be paid. At the other hiking car parks - Schützenhaus, Laich, Niggeln, Schule, Petern - according to Rosmarie Fischer from Tourist Info, the old fee of 4 euros per day still applies until the machines are reprogrammed to the agreed increase to 5 euros. In addition, you can currently park your vehicle in front of the town hall - as long as the hotel in the Sonnental is closed - and in the alternative parking lot in Laich for the same price. Fischer assumes that the latter meadow will be dry enough to be used again by Sunday at the latest, despite the rain on Friday.

Wackersberg

Parking fees in the municipality of Wackersberg are currently only due on Blomberg.

As reported, the private operator, the Blombergbahn, increased the tariff from 2 to 5 euros per day in the spring.

With the exception of the double chairlift, almost all facilities on the Blomberg are currently open, including the summer toboggan run and the Blombergblitz.

At the community hiking car park at the apiary and at the former "Hochtannerstuben" at the entrance to the Längental valley, you don't currently pay anything.

They should be enlarged soon.

"However, we need extensive compensation areas for this, and that costs a lot of money," explains Mayor Jan Göhzold.

“The municipal council should first give its okay.” When the extension of the parking spaces has been implemented, the municipality will also raise parking fees.

“When it comes to the height, we will orientate ourselves on the surrounding communities,” says the town hall chief.

The community now has toilets installed in the two parking lots.

According to Göhzold, they will be delivered on Monday.

Gaissach

The municipality of Gaißach charges moderate fees on its two hiking car parks Gerstlandhang / Lehen and Sunntraten: One pays 1 euro for three hours, 2 euros for six hours and 4 euros for a whole day.

Mayor Stefan Fadinger urges once again not to park wildly in meadows and fields when the official parking spaces are full.

With a sign in Lehen, the municipality indicates a legal and free alternative: the parking area south of the train station.

"From there you walk a quarter of an hour longer, which can also be seen as a nice part of the hike," says Fadinger.

Unfortunately, this suggestion has not yet been widely accepted.

The municipal council will probably discuss the entire parking situation in Gaißach in more detail in the summer or autumn.

Sachsenkam

If you want to open the bathing season in Kirchsee with temperatures above 20 degrees, you can reach your destination by bike, because the main access, the Sachsenkamer Kirchseestrasse, is still closed due to construction work. As reported, a new power line is being laid there. “The road will probably only be usable again at the beginning or the middle of next week,” explains Mayor Andreas Rammler.
