The fire and the smoke panicked the whole building.

This Friday evening, a violent fire broke out in an apartment at 12, square des Moulineaux in Boulogne-Billancourt.

The firefighters were called around 10:20 pm for a "very violent fire" probably linked to "an explosion", according to the firefighters.

Six people were slightly intoxicated by the smoke, including a mother and her two children who were taken to hospital in a relative emergency.

Quickly, help arrived on the scene and evacuated six people who had sealed themselves in their apartment and shouted for help at the windows.

The firefighters evacuated them using a ladder.

Other people were rescued and evacuated from the landings on the upper floors.

The fire indeed broke out in an apartment on the 5th floor of a seven-story building.

In total, 18 people were relocated by the services of the town hall in a Boulonnais hotel.

Due to the violence of the fire, no less than 40 firefighters and ten rescue vehicles were on site.

"Finally, thanks to the speed of intervention, the fire was able to be contained at the level of the apartment where the disaster occurred", one explains to the Paris fire brigade.

"It was very impressive, the flames were coming out everywhere, it could have been catastrophic but the firefighters were great", readily admits the mayor (LR), Pierre-Christophe Baguet who was on site with his assistant Marie-Laure Godin.

The central laboratory of the Paris police headquarters was also on site to determine the origin of the fire.

According to the first elements of the investigation, it would seem that it is due to the explosion of a battery of skate-board in charge.

Water and electricity should be restored during the day of Saturday to allow tenants to return to their accommodation. The family of the apartment destroyed by the fire, a couple of municipal officers and their children, will be relocated by Hauts-de-Seine Habitat.
