The financial impact of the pandemic on the city's finances is being felt more strongly than expected.
In income tax there is a minus of around 600,000 euros.
Germering
- treasurer René Mroncz presented a first short report on the development of the city budget to the main committee.
It was only a snapshot after three months, said Mroncz.
But a negative tendency can still be seen.
The income from income tax is already below expectations.
If it continues like this, around 600,000 euros will be missing at the end of the year.
It's not that bad when it comes to trade tax.
According to Mroncz, the budget of 23 million euros will probably be in the till by the end of the year.
At the end of April it was only 18 million euros.
But the notices about the tax increase decided by the city council had not yet been sent.
From the treasurer's point of view, the real estate transfer tax is developing "pleasantly well" as it has for years.
Anyone walking through the city can see this on every corner: “The construction activity is still enormous.” Mroncz is therefore expecting additional income from 230,000 euros to 4.23 million euros.
November aid from the federal government
The city also benefits from federal support measures.
René Mroncz reported that the own companies Stadthalle and Stadtwerke benefited from the November and December aid.
The town hall received a total of 204,000 euros here.
The municipal utilities received 80,000 euros, and a further 80,000 are still expected.
According to Mroncz, the future development of the city's financial situation also depends on the planned investments.
One problem child remains the expansion and renovation of the Wittelsbach school.
According to the latest report in the building committee, it is almost certain that there will be a further increase in costs.
However, there can also be increases at the Kerschenstein School, which is about to complete the project.
In spite of everything, Chamberlain Mroncz was confident that the budget would have existed.
However, a more precise judgment will only be possible once the rates of increase in tax participation over the next few quarters are known.
