The mayor of Tübingen is criticized from all sides for a comment considered racist during a chat on Thursday evening on Facebook.

This city councilor, used to verbal provocations, attacked the former German footballer Dennis Aogo, whom he called a "

bad racist

" and "

negro

".

The mayor then assured that he wielded irony about the "

cancel culture

", the culture of cancellation can lead to the withdrawal from public life of personalities for comments or acts deemed reprehensible.

Dennis Aogo himself recently quit his duties as a consultant on the Sky channel for having described on the air players who "

train until they are gassed

".

Boris Palmer's argument did not convince members of his party, including his co-president and possible future chancellor, Annalena Baerbock.

"

Boris Palmer's statement is racist and repulsive,

" responded the environmental candidate to the September 26 elections.

Summoning irony after the fact doesn't make it go away.

All this adds to provocations that exclude and hurt people,

”she lamented, adding that Mr. Palmer had“

therefore lost

”the“

political support

”of environmentalists.

The Baden-Württemberg federation immediately voted to exclude Boris Palmer, already the author of verbal provocations in the past.

He had thus estimated at the start of the pandemic that most of the deceased would have died anyway in the "

months

" that would have followed.
