The Observatory predicts that high-altitude anticyclones will continue to bring generally sunny and hot weather to the coastal areas of South China in the next one or two days.

Tomorrow (9th) is the annual Mother's Day. The Observatory expects it to be sunny and hot tomorrow. The highest temperature in the urban area will reach 32 degrees. It has the chance to become the fifth hottest Mother's Day on record. The temperature in Sheung Shui and other three districts is expected The height is 34 degrees.

The Observatory also predicted that the weather will continue to be hot next week under the influence of the southerly airstream, but there will be a few showers. It is expected that the southerly airstream will be more active in the middle of the next week, with more showers along the coast of Guangdong.

As the high-altitude anticyclone strengthened again later in the next week, showers along the coast of Guangdong decreased.

According to the Observatory, the high-altitude anticyclone is bringing generally sunny and hot weather to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea.

At noon today (8th), the temperature in most parts of Hong Kong rose to 30 degrees or above. It is predicted that the weather will be fine and hot today, with mild to moderate southwest winds.

Looking ahead, the weather will be generally fine and hot early next week, with a few showers in the middle of next week and sunshine for a short period of time.

The Observatory reminded that the hot weather may affect health, the public should stay vigilant and add more water.

In addition, today's UV index is as high as 11, and the exposure level is extremely high. The Observatory reminds the public to be careful of strong purple light; if you are outdoors, you should stay in a shaded place.

Tomorrow (9th) is Mother’s Day. The Observatory is expected to be generally fine and hot, with temperatures ranging from 26 to 32 degrees; in Sha Tin, it is expected to reach 33 degrees, reaching extreme heat; Sheung Shui, Ta Kwu Ling and Shek Kong are expected to reach 34 degrees. People should avoid heat stroke if they go out to celebrate.

Looking through the data, if 32 degrees is recorded tomorrow, it will be the fifth hottest Mother's Day since the record in 1884, and the hottest Mother's Day ever was 33.3 degrees recorded in 1958.

The Observatory also predicted that there will be showers for five consecutive days starting next Tuesday (11th) and thunderstorms in some areas next Wednesday (12th); and the temperature on the 5th will also range from 26 to 31 degrees.

From next Sunday (16th), the weather will be hot again, and the temperature will reach 32 degrees again.
