Schleswig-Holstein will soon be welcoming tourists all over the state.
Of the four originally planned model regions *, the Schlei region with Eckernförde and the district of North Friesland with the holiday island of Sylt are currently open to tourists.
The next region follows on May 8th with the inner Bay of Lübeck *.
But if you can wait a little longer and have destinations outside of the model projects in Schleswig-Holstein in mind, you can look forward to it: The state government wants to
relax its corona measures throughout the state
from May 17th
.
This extends the applicable rules of the model regions to the entire country.
Vacation on the North Sea and the Baltic Sea: Schleswig-Holstein wants to open completely
Punctually before Pentecost, tourists can start planning their North or Baltic Sea vacation in Schleswig-Holstein. However, it is not entirely unconditional: As in the other federal states that have already announced easing, the openings here are also tied to certain rules.
Tourists must either be vaccinated, recover from Covid 19 disease or be able to present a negative test in
order to be allowed to stay overnight in the accommodation establishments in Schleswig-Holstein. "The prerequisite for this is that the numbers remain stable or even decrease," said Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) according to an NDR report on Wednesday afternoon in Kiel. The 7-day incidence in the state is currently 55 (as of May 6), making it the lowest nationwide.

After arriving, tourists
have to present a new negative corona test every 72 hours
.
The indoor catering can also open again from May 17th and receive guests who can prove a negative test result.
It must not be older than 24 hours.
In addition, the contact restrictions are relaxed: up to five people from two households can meet in indoor catering and up to ten people can then meet outside - also in outdoor catering.
Furthermore, cultural model projects are planned, which should further expand the “cultural diversity in the country”, according to a communication.
If the corona incidence in a district or an independent city exceeds the 100 limit, the nationwide emergency brake applies.
"But in view of the increasing number of vaccinations, we are very confident that we will not have to go backwards either in tourism or in retail," said Tourism Minister Bernd Buchholz (FDP).
Findings from the model projects would show that these are not drivers of infection, which is what makes the further opening steps possible in the first place.
