Syrian artists and musicians of the Russian people shared their joy of the seventy-sixth anniversary of the victory over Nazism, during a central ceremony hosted by the Opera Theater in the Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts, in the presence of official figures, intellectuals, and a number of members of the Russian community in Syria.

The celebration, which was held in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Russia, and the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, was an opportunity to showcase the high capabilities of graduates and students of the Syrian academic institutions to evoke the eyes of Russian singing and music that were presented for decades in celebration of an event that has always been considered the most important in the twentieth century.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ayman Sousan delivered a speech in which he referred to the happiness of the Syrians for the participation of Russian friends in their victory, which put an end to Nazi and fascist ideology based on domination and colonial expansion, stressing that what Syria is exposed to in terms of terrorist war is the result of plans aimed at domination and arrogance. To impose tutelage on the Syrians and direct its policy to serve their interests.

While the Chargé d'Affairs of the Russian Embassy in Damascus Eldar Qurbanov expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Ministries of Culture and Presidency of the Republic for their efforts in organizing the ceremony, recalling the sacrifices made by the Russian people in their war against Nazism during World War II, which was the bloodiest and fierce in human history.

Kurbanov said: “International terrorism has brought over ten years havoc to the friendly people in Syria. Therefore, in implementation of its sacred duty, the Russian Federation has extended a helping hand to help the Syrian brothers and as a result of joint efforts, the Syrian land has returned to the umbrella of Syrian sovereignty.”

The concert presented by the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Misak Pagboudrian came in the form of a visual vision that included Russian operatic and popular songs about the war and its pain, including “Dark Night”, “Brown” and “If there was no war” and “The Last Battle” with the voices of graduated singers And students of the Higher Institute of Music with the presentation of documentary scenes on the sacrifices of Russian soldiers, in addition to paragraphs

Syria, which is the piece “Destroying the Sun’s Gate” by Maestro Adnan Fathallah, the song “Your Rayaat Al Aali,” Oh Syria, and dancing performances by students of the dance department at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and for the two groups of Jelnar and the Circassian Association.

Information Minister Imad Sarah explained in a statement to reporters that this concert was presented with a full Syrian footprint, from performing to singing on the occasion of the anniversary of the victory of Russian friends over Nazism and fascism, and it is like a greeting from the Syrian people to the ceremony held by Russian friends on the anniversary of the Evacuation Day last April.

Minister Sarah referred to the depth of relations between the two countries, which are always renewed and rooted, especially in recent years after the Syrian and Russian blood blended and this pure land became the strongest possible relationship between the two friendly peoples.

Dr. Labana Mashouh, Minister of Culture, stressed the need to establish a culture of steadfastness, sacrifice, martyrdom, and blood that pays a price for freedom in all forums. Therefore, the participation of the Syrian culture to Russian friends came today as their joy and sadness to remember their victims, especially since this war was brutally destructive in which the army and people in Russia paid a heavy price for it To remind us of the sacrifices and blood that our valiant army and our steadfast people made in order to expel extremism and darkness from the Syrian land.

Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates considered that our celebration today with Russian friends on this occasion comes as a way of acknowledging the great role that the Soviet Union and the Soviet army played at that time in the victory over the alliance of Nazism, fascism and Japanese militarism, as this victory contributed to the establishment of the United Nations Organization that defeated the logic of law over Force, pointing out that what brought Syria and Russia together in their war on terror was the fight against takfir terrorism, which was nothing but another aspect of Nazi and Fascist ideology.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam and Tourism Engineer Muhammad Rami Martini and Dr. Mahdi Dakhlallah, member of the Central Command of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, a number of deputy ministers and their assistants, officials, a number of officers of the Syrian Arab Army and the Russian Army, a number of heads of organizations, federations and professional unions and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Damascus .
