The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mojtaba Dhu al-Nur, announced that according to the strategic law to lift the sanctions, the West’s opportunity to fulfill its obligations will end on May 24, and Iran will take its measures according to this law.
In a statement to Tasnim International News Agency today, Dhu al-Nur indicated that discussions regarding the nuclear agreement will continue in Vienna and said: “Nothing new has happened so far and negotiations are starting to drain time,” adding: “If the negotiations do not reach a conclusion on the 24th of May, they will not be implemented Iran was applying additional protocol voluntarily, but inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency can continue inspections within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
He pointed out that "surveillance cameras are currently working in Iranian nuclear centers without being connected to the Internet. If negotiations bear fruit until the date of May 24, then the International Atomic Energy Agency can access the content of these cameras, and if the negotiations do not bear fruit by the aforementioned time, the content of the cameras will be deleted and closed as well." .
Dhul-Nur indicated that any new clause reached in Vienna that is added to the nuclear agreement must be approved by the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatib Zadeh announced yesterday that the Vienna talks are "slow but positive," indicating that US President Joe Biden must choose between adhering to the legacy of the failed administration of former US President Donald Trump or distancing himself from those policies and returning to commitments under the nuclear agreement. .
