Live broadcast from the Temple Mount
Many police forces were deployed this evening (Saturday) in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem, as well as checkpoints, amid growing tensions in the capital.
Meanwhile, an extension in the al-Aqsa Mosque has begun to fill with worshipers, and police hope the violent clashes that erupted last night will not be repeated.
The event for which worshipers gather on the Temple Mount is the Night of Al-Qader, which symbolizes the day the Qur'an was given to the Prophet Muhammad.
Tens of thousands of worshipers are expected to arrive tonight for the event.

Earlier, Road 1 was blocked for traffic for two hours from the Hemed Interchange to the east due to a march of worshipers on the road on the way to Jerusalem.
The worshipers started marching after the police detained the buses they were traveling in, which were on their way to prayer.
The police decision comes in the shadow of growing tensions in the capital, due to fears of a resumption of violent clashes on the Temple Mount.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a situation assessment with the participation of the heads of the defense establishment following the violent clashes that broke out last night in the capital.
"Israel is acting responsibly to ensure law and order in Jerusalem while maintaining freedom of worship in the holy places," Netanyahu said in assessing the situation.

Despite the tension: The flag parade will pass through the Nablus Gate on Jerusalem Day
In preparation for Jerusalem Day, which is being held on Monday, the police are expected to conduct a situation assessment on the morning of the holiday in order to decide whether to allow Jewish visits to the Temple Mount compound.
At the same time, Jerusalem District Commander Doron Turgeman clarified that the flag parade will also pass this year at the Nablus Gate on the way to the Western Wall.
Similar to 2019, when Jerusalem Day falls at the end of Ramadan, this time too the marchers will be expedited, in order to avoid friction with the Muslim worshipers.
