The initiatives of the two chambers of hummus industry "bread and salt" and the trade of Homs "good people" continue the distribution of food baskets during the blessed month of Ramadan, in coordination and cooperation with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor and NGOs in the governorate.

In Al-Malaab neighborhood, six locomotives carrying 9,500 food baskets arrived today from the “Bread and Salt” initiative launched by the Homs Chamber of Industry at the beginning of the Holy Month. All segments of society.

Labib Al-Ikhwan, head of the Homs Chamber of Industry, said in a statement to the representative of SANA that launching the initiative and reaching the distribution of about 40,000 food baskets confirms the success of the networking process between the business community and industrialists with NGOs.

Engineer Samar El Sebaei, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs, referred to the role of the media as a real partner in lighting up community initiatives since its inception, which prompted many families who deserve aid and support to register their names in the governorate's civil associations.

Dr. Mumtaz Al-Madani, head of the Charitable Association of the Karam Al-Shami neighborhood in Homs, explained the importance of the "Bread and Salt" initiative, which provided thousands of food baskets to the needy during the holy month.

Lama al-Maghribi, head of the Youth of Good Association in Homs, says that the first batch of "bread and salt" initiative has been received for 200 families, and today we receive the second batch of 400 families registered with the association, where it is delivered to the most needy families, including orphans, the elderly, widows and the wounded.

In addition, the Homs Chamber of Commerce initiative "People of Goodness" in Al-Waer neighborhood continues to communicate with NGOs in the governorate to distribute the baskets according to a list of names of the most needy families.

According to Bassam Al-Zallaq, Director of the Good People Initiative in the Homs Chamber of Commerce, the initiative continues to distribute food baskets in coordination with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor to deliver them to NGOs, where the distribution has been made to ten associations currently covering thousands of needy families.

Wassim Mando, a member of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Charitable Society in Homs, said that there are 1500 beneficiaries from the families of the People of Good Initiative, and lists of the names of the families were drawn up according to well-studied criteria to deliver the baskets to the deserving people who are registered with the association.

Mutanas Abdul Latif, a member of the board of directors of Adad al-Faqir Association in the town of Sadad, indicated that he had received 200 food baskets for the association’s registrants from the People of Goodness initiative.
