Vaccinations are still going badly.

After a number of readers had reported to the editorial office, vaccination center manager Christian Achmüller confirmed that hundreds of vaccinations had to be canceled for the next few days.

District

- 3000 doses of Biontech vaccine were delivered to the vaccination center in Peißenberg this week, reports Achmüller.

Still, that is far too little.

"We had to cancel around 500 appointments for initial vaccinations that had already been agreed for the next few days," said Achmüller.

The Peißenberg master painter Jürgen Forstner, who is also a member of the local council, was also affected.

He was supposed to be vaccinated on Saturday along with his wife and son, on Thursday evening it was canceled at short notice.

“What annoys me: Politicians don't do their homework.

They talk about vaccinating children and don't even bring the adults there. "

Corona in Bavaria - second vaccinations have priority

The reasons for this are complex: Large-scale vaccination campaigns took place several weeks ago. Employees from medical practices, but also teachers and educators from primary schools, were provided with the Astrazeneca vaccine. Now, nine weeks later, they need a second vaccination. But in the meantime the regulations have changed. Back then, at the time of the first vaccination, the vaccine was only approved for people younger than 60. For a few weeks now, however, the vaccine has only been given to people over 60, at least in the vaccination centers. "That's why we offer everyone under 60 who have been vaccinated with Astrazeneca a dose of Biontech as a second vaccination," reports Achmüller. But not everyone wanted that: “Many also wanted a second vaccination with Astrazeneca. We then had to refer them to the resident doctors, ”he reports.

Corona in Bavaria - relaxations beckon: Many want the second injection quickly

The latter, however, were completely overrun by this regulation.

A number of resident doctors would also not want to inoculate Astrazeneca at all.

"Then came the decision of the Bundestag to give those who have been completely vaccinated, extensive freedom," continued Achmüller.

As a result, the vaccine only played a subordinate role for most of those affected.

"Everyone wants their second vaccination as soon as possible," says Achmüller.

And second vaccinations have priority.

However, since no more vaccine was delivered, hundreds of appointments that had already been made for first vaccinations had to be canceled in order to carry out second vaccinations instead.

Corona vaccinations in Bavaria: waiting for appointments

"Everyone who registered via the hotline and whom we called to cancel the agreed appointment will receive another call when new appointments can be made," says Achmüller. However, anyone who has registered on the Internet and made an appointment there that has now been canceled must independently check when appointments are available again. "I expect that appointments will not be available again in the portal until the middle of next week at the earliest," said the head of the vaccination center. But also in the next two weeks there will be fewer first vaccinations due to the scarce vaccine deliveries to the vaccination center, because mainly second vaccinations will have to be carried out. In this context, Achmüller once again urged everyone who had already been vaccinated by a resident doctorshould deregister in the BayImco portal. Otherwise there is a risk of further loss of time.
