Yuen Long Tianheng District Councillor Wang Baiyu, who was remanded in custody for participating in the Democratic 35+ primary election last year, has resigned as a district councilor.
According to the website of the Yuen Long District Council, Wang Baiyu's term of office is until May 4, 2021. The last update of his Facebook page was in March this year, referring to the suspension of the update of the page.

Wang Baiyu and Li Xuanlang formed a list last year and signed up for the "Super District Council" functional constituency of the Legislative Council.
Wang Baiyu won more than 70,000 votes in the democratic primary elections. The Democratic Party Kuang Junyu, who won only 260,000 votes, and Cen Aohui, who received nearly 120,000 votes, ranked third.
The government announced the postponement of the election after the end of the nomination period. Candidates who have signed up can be refunded the used election expenses.
