Big vortex, small cause: a fire brigade operation with a good 20 men triggered a canister of waste oil in Föching on Saturday.

- As the Föching Vice-Commander Josef Reichthalhammer reported when asked, a caller had alerted the emergency services to an unknown hazardous substance around 12.30 p.m. The fire brigades from Föching and Otterfing then moved in. But they soon realized that everything was only half as bad: There was a 60-liter canister on the side of the road near the motorway underpass, which was half filled with waste oil, says Reichthalhammer. Apparently someone had parked it there illegally. The fire brigade disposed of the piece and soon moved away again.
