Anyone who had their first vaccination appointment at the Ebersberg vaccination center before the opening of the Poing branch office must also complete the second there.
Poing / Ebersberg
- A change of location or date from Ebersberg to Poing, which would, for example, be a simplification for people without a car in the northern district, would be “disproportionately expensive”, inform the district office and the vaccination center on request.
District office sees considerable organizational challenges
The written answer by e-mail states: “The desire, which is mostly absolutely understandable and at first glance sounding simple, to move second appointments from Ebersberg to Poing poses considerable organizational challenges for the vaccination center. At the moment, these cannot be managed with reasonable effort with the existing logistical and administrative processes, but also on the system side (vaccination platform). "
In order to reschedule a second appointment, according to the vaccination center, several parameters must be taken into account, which are listed in the answer as follows:
• Patients and appointments are always planned in pairs along the existing vaccine deliveries and per location.
• The Poing site does not have its own vaccine warehouse.
• Vaccination doses cannot be sent individually.
• The required patient or vaccination file is at the location of the first vaccination.
In order to clarify the problem, the vaccination center cites the following example as a starting point in its e-mail to our editorial team: Poing, day 1 - 210 doses of manufacturer A are planned for initial vaccinations; six weeks later, on day 2, another 210 doses of A for the associated second vaccination. According to the vaccination center, there are theoretically three options to make it possible to reschedule an appointment:
1. To move a second appointment to Poing, you can make an appointment less “normal” there on day 1, but then have one dose left on day 2 - or vice versa, you take the required vaccine from day 2 - then it is missing for the already invited, scheduled candidates.
2. Remaining dates could be “kept free” for such requests, which is unacceptable in view of the continued shortage and threatened expiry.
3. You could swap dates - Ebersberg goes to Poing and vice versa.
It's hard to imagine that two partners can be found here.
As the vaccination center Ebersberg adds, other conceivable scenarios also fail for similar reasons.
