The Syrian musical and singing heritage in its various colors, in addition to the songs of love, homeland and peace, were evoked by the young voices of the Harmony Choir at the ceremony hosted by Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia.

The ceremony, which came as the conclusion of a seven-day workshop that included more than 40 young men and women from the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous, as part of the harmony choir project, which comes with the support of the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with Choir Gardenia, targeting all governorates with the aim of spreading love and peace and enhancing community cohesion through music and singing according to Soprano Ghada Harb is the project manager.

Harb, in a statement to SANA's correspondent, indicated that the project targets the young generation from 18 to 35 years of age, due to its belief in their ability to make change and create a better tomorrow, and to spread the culture of peace, love and creativity through music and collective singing under the title “My voice and your voice are heard” and its application in our societies to have a healthy and sound society.

For his part, Iyad Al-Junaidi, head of the department of community cohesion in the United Nations Development Program in the provinces of Lattakia and Tartous, considered that the project, which comes at the level of Syria within the portfolio of community cohesion, is based on training young people musically with the aim of enhancing community cohesion through music and singing, preserving and documenting the musical and singing heritage of the governorates.

Musician Elias Samaan, a participant in the choir as one of the music coaches, saw that the project carries an important value through its ability to bring together young people from different governorates, create a window for dialogue and acquaintance, and spread the values ​​of love and peace through music and interest in reviving the Syrian musical and lyrical heritage among the youth.

The program of the concert, which spanned more than an hour, included the song of my country composed by Adnan Fathallah and the harmony of the choir, in addition to a bunch of traditional songs that were distinguished by their ability to evoke various musical colors that show the richness and diversity of Syria, including “Oh, the place of the opportunity, and I saw you as a fool, and from the junction of Jassim to Sanamayn, Rawahi and I heard Anin al-Naoura and Ah, O Asmrani, O money of the Levant, and I will give you the shape of diamonds, and O Hannah, what do you want, and the nightingale sings on the branch of fol ”in addition to a video introducing the project.
