Erding - Michael Maidl is a big fan of FC Bayern Munich.
He celebrated the ninth championship of his favorite club in a row with a triumphant ride in his Eicher tractor through Erding.
Michael Maidl is a Bayern fan with heart and soul. He celebrates this year after year when his favorite club becomes German soccer champions. On Saturday, the 59-year-old again decorated his Eicher tractor, built in 1952, with cardboard championship cups and flags and set off with his children Martina (19) and Matthäus (18) on the triumphant trip from Wattendorf to Erding. The passers-by in the city center were amazed.
Borussia Dortmund, of all people, had made Bayern champions prematurely in the afternoon with their 3-2 win against RB Leipzig. Even before Bayern's 6-0 victory over Mönchengladbach in the evening, the Maidl team was on the move in downtown Erdingen. Michael Maidl has been a Bayern member since 1974, and his children have been since they were born. It goes without saying that they have season tickets for the Allianz Arena. By the way, Maidl is celebrating a milestone birthday next year, he says 59B, “because I won't be a six-man”. THOMAS OBERMEIER
