In Avignon, in the Vaucluse, the hunt continues to find the man who shot Brigadier Éric Masson on Wednesday evening.
In total, nearly 80 police officers are mobilized day and night.
This Sunday, a police and citizen rally called for by all trade unions is to take place in the early afternoon in front of the Avignon police station.

No particular message but a simple moment of meditation, a last tribute to
"a soldier who died as a hero"
, to use the words of the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin, during his trip to Avignon on the evening of the tragedy.
"We would have liked to organize a march and a parade but for security
reasons
we will be content with a rally with all the police unions and citizens who wish to come
", explains to
Figaro
Rocco Contento, spokesperson for the SGP union Police in Île-de-France.

For the trade unionist, this is not the time for anger. It will probably be on May 19 next during the citizens' march planned in Paris at the call, again, of all the trade unions.
"You will probably have to expect something more punchy," said
Rocco Contento. All the police unions also suspended their participation on May 17 in the “Beauvau de la sécurité”.
