Because art and cultural institutions have largely closed, artists from the Miesbach district are now offering an exhibition - to be seen in shop windows.
Miesbach - The corona-related forced break for artists and cultural institutions continues in the district.
But there are more and more projects that offer art a platform, make it visible again - and thus offer a source of inspiration.
A pop-up exhibition has now opened in Miesbach's city center: It brings life to the currently vacant business premises of the former Jeanseria.
Miesbach: Art exhibition in the former Jeanseria
A rally took place at the opening: Micol Krause, who initiated the pop-up gallery, and the three exhibitors rolled out the red carpet for the art - so that it would finally be visible again. “Vernissages and visits to exhibitions are currently not possible, so art has to be presented in a different and new way,” says Krause. The ten large shop windows at Bahnhofstrasse 4 in Miesbach offer an ideal place for this, as temporary use until a new tenant can move in.
Instead of jeans, shirts & Co., works by Katrin Hering, for example, have moved in there.
Her minimalist paper art contrasts with Brigitte Yoshiko Pruchnow's large-format, cinematic-looking canvases.
Both are united by the play of light and shadow and the calm, almost meditative charisma.
Bettina Krugsperger complements the exhibition with “et cera”, a staging of experimental wax research, and filigree, paper and waxy covers and works.
Minimalist paper art - seen from the sidewalk
The exhibition is expected to be on view until Friday, May 14. "Free entry on the sidewalk, to be seen from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.," Krause says with a wink of the eye, looking at the curfew at night. Your pop-up gallery can also be found on Instagram as galerie_micol_krause. The works of art are gradually being offered there, explains the Miesbacher.
