Saint-Cloud: the inhabitants of the barges opposed to the modification of the D7

2021-05-11T19:35:52.132Z

The department's project provides in particular for the development of a two-lane two-lane between the Suresnes and Saint-Cloud bridges, a promenade

“It's a project from another time, at all car, it's incomprehensible! “They were only a handful this Saturday afternoon to tow on the pedestrian bridge of the Avre Aqueduct in Saint-Cloud against the project to requalify the D7 and the banks of the Seines. But a handful particularly raised against the felling of trees and what they consider as the "concreteization of the banks". "A public inquiry is underway but very few people know about it," laments Isabelle Marchand, president of the Saint-Cloud boat association, which launched an online petition and collected nearly 1,500 signatures.

Concerned in the first place, inhabitants of the barges reject the project of the Hauts-de-Seine department en bloc.

Other associations join them: Saint-Cloud by bike, Friends of the Gatines garden, Suresnes Bords de Seine, Coteaux perspectives, Val de Seine Vert as well as the independent independent association of parents of pupils (AIAPE).

The project plans to completely transform this 3.3 km route which stretches between the Château park in Suresnes and the Place Georges Clemenceau in Saint-Cloud in order, among other things, to "improve mobility" and "reclaim the banks. of the Seine ”.

Thus, there will be two lanes twice per direction of traffic, a two-way cycle path on the sidewalk on the built-up side and a pedestrian promenade on the bank side which is currently inaccessible.

To do this, 424 remarkable trees in the alignment will be felled, of which only 80 have irreversible lesions. “It is only the alignment trees that they count, but there will be many more in reality, more than 1000, assures Isabelle Marchand. They will replant a third of 1000 trees and not 400, this will not be enough to ensure biodiversity, ”she pleaded. His association sums up the project as follows: “More than 50% of traffic, more pollution and noise pollution and elimination of 50% of parking spaces”. “Parents are very worried that this project will only worsen pollution in the sector, they fear for the health of their children,” says Emmanuelle Khadiri, from AIAPE.

In the public inquiry, Saint-Cloud à Vélo observed that the bike path on the building side is not a good solution: “this arrangement does not allow for a continuous and secure track for cyclists.

The track will in fact be interrupted by a large number of intersections with the tracks which allow access to Saint-Cloud and Suresnes ”.

Three years of work

Faced with all these remarks, the mayor and departmental councilor (LR), Eric Berdoati remains straight in his boots: “This project is extremely qualitative, the situation will be immeasurably improved because today this section is in a deplorable state, c 'is the only place that has not yet been rehabilitated, it's a mess, we can't do worse ”. If the elected representative deplores the “necessary” felling of trees, he welcomes a project which will make traffic more fluid and reduce pollution. But above all he welcomes "this beautiful reconquest of the banks" which could benefit at least 2,800 residents of the district that he opposes to the forty housing boats in the area which have, according to him, privatized the public domain.

The work is planned over three years, from 2023 to 2026. The public inquiry aimed at the declaration of public utility, necessary in particular to resort to the planned expropriations is still being held until May 12.
