The branch of the Syrian Foundation for Trade in Damascus announced the sale of 2,250 food baskets and the import and sale of 148 tons of vegetables and fruits since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan and until its date.
The director of the branch, Talal Hammoud, told SANA that the number of families benefiting from the sale of subsidized materials via the electronic card in Damascus during the current round has reached to date about 372,223 families.
The Foundation branch offered two food baskets during the blessed month of Ramadan, the first at a value of 25,000 Syrian pounds, of which 1800 were sold to date and the second for 50 thousand pounds, of which 450 were sold, according to Hammoud, who indicated that they include foodstuffs that meet the needs of the family in the blessed month at a price lower than the market It ranges from 30 to 40 percent.
Hammoud indicated that the quantities sold of subsidized materials via the electronic card during the current session that started from the 15th of last February for the months of “February, March and April” until its date were sugar 4006 tons and rice 3371 tons.
Hammoud indicated that the Foundation continues to draw and offer quantities of vegetables and fruits directly from the farmer at the wholesale price in the context of its positive intervention in the markets in the halls, indicating that the quantities that were rented and sold in the halls of the Damascus branch since the beginning of Ramadan reached to date 148 tons of tomatoes, eggplant, Barcelona, squash, Maltese beans and oranges. "Blancia and Shamouti", capsicum, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, limes and cucumbers.
