Damascus-Sana

A poetic journey that has exceeded half a century, enriching contemporary Arabic poetry with a diverse creativity, during which the late poet Fayez Khaddour sincerely presented his country and culture with his innovative visions and the summary of his long experience to achieve an advanced position in the world of contemporary poetic modernity.

And the late man who passed away in Salamiyah today at the age of 79 is a delicate poet of the sixties generation who is passionate about troublesome despondency and full of nobility and knows nothing but bias towards truth and beauty, and he expresses in his creativity a high and discreet awareness of Arab and international poetic heritage and rich in intellectual adventures during which he presented a unique experience of poetic modernity Confront ugliness and injustice by working to develop positive values.

In a statement to SANA Cultural, researcher Iyad Murshid, Director General of the Al-Assad National Library, said, “Fayez Khaddour was a true poet and one of the pillars of Arab poetic modernity and a brilliant journalist with a responsible pen and a balanced word, and with his death we lose a prominent face in the Syrian cultural life and one of the creators who left a distinctive imprint in his literary product. From the shade and the cemetery guard in 1966 through the rain in the city fire in 1973 to the mirrors of the free bird in 2010 and others.

Morshed stopped upon the late's inspiration for heritage, history and myth and presenting a poetic experience that simulates the era and harmonizes with human values in its finest forms, noting that the Al-Assad Library hosted the signing of the second poetry edition of his works in November 2018, in the presence of a group of prominent writers from Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.

And the writer Ali Al-Ra'i believed that the departure of the poet Khadour is a literary loss in the cultural present due to his capacity for innovative creativity and pioneering modernity.

The editor-in-chief of Al-Mawkif Literary Magazine in the Arab Writers Union and a member of the Executive Office considered that the national literature today lacks an important stature and a distinctive and special literary style.

Head of the Maidan Cultural Center, Leila Saab, praised the unique experience of the poet Khaddour, as the author of an innovative artistic formation who was able to give indications to good literature worthy of respect.

The poet Malak al-Awam showed that the poet Khadour has a poetic style that is characterized by abstaining ease and possesses the components of poetry such as weight, structure, image and connotations in addition to modernity in the movement of subtext and the use of connotation.

The President of the Publishers Union, Haitham Hafez, indicated the need to pay attention to the literature of the late Khadour and his poetry after his death in order to preserve the successful literary legacy that inspires generations and surpasses all difficult circumstances.

The son of the city of the late writer Muhammad Azouz, in turn, said, “Fayez Khadour is a poet who beats poetry and flows through the fertility of his unusual or familiar language that stores a tremendous amount of ferocity and he is haunted by the homeland, rejection, rebellion and freedom. Fresh ”.

The poet Khadour, according to Azouz, refused to compromise in all its forms, even in the poems of love or in the mysticism that he created and mastered in his drawing and went on to create his own linguistic dictionary from his first traditional poems even through the poems and angles he published in some newspapers or periodicals and when he moved away from the spotlight and was content with his production and books, it was his faith. That loneliness is better than sitting badly, that the identity of the opponent determines the identity of the knight, and that the most beautiful things in his life are poems that are true, then believe them, and then believe them.
