The People's Assembly started today the works of its first session of the third regular session of the third legislative session, held under the chairmanship of Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council, and in the presence of the Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, and a number of ministers.
In a speech at the beginning of the session, the President of the Council affirmed that the constitutional entitlement represented by the presidential elections represents a message to the whole world that Syria is determined to confront all forms of siege and occupation in all fields, indicating the importance of the noble meanings and values indicated by Legislative Decree No. 13 of 2021, which grants a general amnesty for the crimes committed Before the date of May 2 of this year, because tolerance is what builds nations.
Sabbagh stressed the importance of integration between the People's Assembly and the government and the continuous intensification of discussions between them under the dome of the parliament throughout the sessions of the parliament in the interest of citizens and contributing to improving their standard of living and meeting their basic needs.
The President of the Council extended a greeting of loyalty and gratitude to the souls of the righteous martyrs and the bravery of the Syrian Arab Army, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
In his speech, the Prime Minister affirmed that the government is working with all available means to alleviate the difficulties facing the citizen, whether with regard to the standard of living, oil derivatives, electric power and others, stressing the intensification of work at the same time to address any defect or deficiency.
Eng. Arnous explained that the government attaches special importance to supporting productive and service investment projects, as it was ratified during the previous stage of project contracts with a value of more than 137 billion Syrian pounds, stressing that work is currently continuing to provide all the financial, banking and service support possible for small and medium enterprises in the agricultural and industrial sectors in all fields. The Prime Minister indicated that the value of imports decreased by 27 percent compared to the first quarter of 2020, while exports increased by 50 percent compared to the first quarter of last year, reaching 200 million euros, registering the best performance on a quarterly basis since 2013 and the lowest import value for many years. .
