The Palestinian Prisoners Club warned of the deterioration of the prisoner Imad Sawarka's health status as a result of the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation authorities against him, foremost of which is deliberate medical negligence.
In a statement reported by Wafa, the club stated that the 37-year-old prisoner Swarka, who continues his hunger strike for the 53 consecutive day, is facing a difficult health situation that worsens with the passage of time as a result of the occupation’s failure to provide him with the necessary treatment.
The club called on international human rights institutions to urgently intervene to pressure the occupation to provide the necessary health care and release it.
About 4,600 Palestinian prisoners inside the occupation prisons face harsh conditions of detention, as 1,800 prisoners suffer from multiple diseases due to the spread of epidemics, and among them about 700 prisoners need urgent treatment, especially cases of cancer, kidney failure and paraplegia.
