The prehistory is curious.

After seven years of service, VW wants to buy back the vehicle
But just seven years later, Pastor Kraller blessed another vehicle in the presence of Commandant Klaus Brandhofer.
The story behind it is curious: The portable pump vehicle built by VW in 2011 was first presented at trade fairs and was for sale on the Internet in 2013.
“The Anger fire department came across it and the community bought it.
With a few renovations, it then cost almost 90,000 euros, ”recalls City Hall manager Tobias Riesch.
Seven years later, the then mayor Werner Weindl then received a letter from the VW Group.
As part of internal reviews, it was found that vehicles were sold during a certain period of time, "whose construction condition may not have corresponded to the current series status at the time of marketing," the letter said (we reported).
In order to exclude possible damage, the vehicle could be bought back - for the full purchase price.
With a view to liability and insurance coverage, the municipality agreed.
Tough negotiations with the VW group
At the request of the fire brigade, VW also guaranteed the box body from the previous vehicle free of charge in writing.
The local council then decided to buy a chassis with all-wheel drive.
Only one day later, however, the company contradicted the agreement.
After a long back and forth as well as massive pressure from the fire brigade and second mayor Franz Schöttl, the group gave in, added the difference and paid a large part of the additional costs for an equivalent new vehicle in addition to the original new price.
New vehicle has already been used twice
In consultation with the fire brigade, the local council then decided to purchase a Mercedes Sprinter 519 with 190 hp and a total weight of 5.5 tonnes.
In October 2020, the chassis was delivered to the all-wheel drive builder, and in December it went on to the fire brigade builder.
The new TSF was picked up in March and put into service a little later.
Because of the Corona requirements, the briefing took place in small groups.
And finally Pastor Kraller came to the blessing.
The fire brigade has now been deployed twice with the vehicle.
Now the Florians are hoping that a proper inauguration ceremony will soon be possible.
