Fallen this week at the Masters 1000 in Madrid in particular Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem, the German Alexander Zverev completed his dream week with a victory in the final over Matteo Berretini 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
The Italian was playing in the Spanish capital in the first Masters 1000 final of his career.
Zverev, currently 6th in the world, wins the fourth Masters 1000 of his career, the second in Madrid and scores points a few weeks before Roland-Garros.
