His Eminence, the Grand Mufti of the Republic, Dr. Ahmed Badr al-Din Hassoun, affirmed that Syria will continue to support the Palestinian cause and the resistance until the liberation of Jerusalem and all the occupied territories.

Mufti Hassoun explained in a speech today via video technology during the International Federation of Resistance Scholars Conference within the framework of the activities of the International Jerusalem Day that 100 countries conspired against Syria to destroy it and wanted it to surrender and submissive and go to the darkness of Diagir, but it persisted and defeated terrorism and remained the true supporter of the resistance.

Mufti Hassoun stressed that Syria will remain with the resistance in the same trench, carry its flag, and stand with its men who have believed what they promised God to do, even if it paid dearly for that.

For his part, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, affirmed that Jerusalem can only be liberated through resistance, because the United States of America, "Israel" and those with them are using all the capabilities available in the world to oppress, tyranny and aggression.

Qassem pointed out that the proclamation of the International Day of Jerusalem created a turning point in the Palestinian issue and in the region, and stressed that the confrontation is to topple the arrogant and colonialists in the region and to restore Palestine and all the occupied territories.

Qasim stressed that the Palestinian people, with their children, women, elders and youth, face injustice and aggression, and will continue their struggle until the liberation of their entire land, and no one is blessed with it because it fights on behalf of the Arab and Islamic nation.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Congregation for Rapprochement of Sects, Sheikh Hamid Shahriari, affirmed that the Palestine issue is alive in the souls and will remain so until the occupied land is liberated and cleansed of the Zionist impurity.

Shahriari clarified that what the Israeli occupation is practicing against the Palestinian people is war crimes and disregarding international law, pointing out that interest in Jerusalem Day is the greatest opportunity to unite hearts and direct energies towards the Palestinian cause.

For his part, the President of the International Union of Resistance Scholars, Sheikh Maher Hammoud, affirmed that Jerusalem is an issue of faith, history and future, and that it will remain close and become closer this year with the struggle, steadfastness and heroism of the Palestinian people that exceeded expectations.

Hammoud said: Participation in Jerusalem Day will form one of the tributaries of the resistance to add to the nation a new and renewed strength that deserves victory, explaining that the resistance has become stronger by the recognition of the enemies themselves, and there are brave heroes from Palestine and from outside facing the occupation.

International Jerusalem Day is being celebrated on the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan in all parts of the world in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in rejection of the attempts to Judaize the holy city practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities, based on the initiative launched by the leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini in 1979.
