The week of La Francophonie, last March, saw the emergence of a new thesaurus: the
Dictionary of Francophones
.
It is on the latter that the collection of educational sheets, offered to French teachers, is based.
Called
“Discover the DDF”
(Dictionary of Francophones), it was developed by the CAVILAM - Alliance Française team, with the support of the General Delegation for the French Language and the Languages of France of the Ministry of Culture. The latter animates and coordinates the Government's linguistic policy, in particular by regularly proposing on France Termes words to
"name in French the new realities and scientific innovations."
These sheets offer six educational paths at different levels of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). They range from level A1 + to B2 / C1. They are aimed at students learning French or wishing to enrich their vocabulary. Various expressions are proposed and explained, depending on the level, such as
“Good morning”
(level A1) or
“From rooster to donkey”
(level B2, C1). On each sheet is the course of the exercises for the teacher, detailed in several stages. Each activity is designed to last sixty minutes.
The principle of these sheets is to offer
"a selection of words or expressions, and guided research activities in the Dictionary of Francophones"
. The production is described as being
"collaborative"
, and
"carried out using a chosen digital tool."
