Hechendorf - The people of Hechendorf are literally scratching their feet and can hardly wait any longer: For the first time there will be a local weekly market in the Seefeld district with 3500 inhabitants. The starting shot is planned for Friday, June 11th. And the opening is to be celebrated in a big way - with alphorn players, jugglers and stilt walkers. The market team led by Johanna Senft, Katharina Braun and Josef Schneider was able to win a total of six stand operators who will then offer their goods every Friday from 2pm to 6pm on Schlagenhofener Weg in front of the community stand.

"When choosing, it was important for us to win Fieranten who offer local specialties from their own handicrafts and not products from the wholesale market," explained Johanna Senft at the presentation of the dealers on Saturday. She was also pleased that customers can buy many goods unpackaged, such as the apple juice from Rainer and Martina Ehrle, who run a fruit farm in the Lake Constance region with ecological considerations in mind. If you want to buy your apple juice "unpackaged", you only have to bring a bottle from home.

The butcher Rainer from Germering is also there, offering sausage and smoked specialties from its own production, including Simmental cattle from the Hechendorfer farmer Johann Hirschvogel, who still slaughters on the farm himself. At the booth of the Köbler village bakery, there are handcrafted breads, rolls, pastries and cakes as well as a large selection of well-tolerated spelled specialties.

Mezzito delicatessen from Puchheim offers antipasti and spreads as well as Mediterranean specialties from its own production, plus seafood and olives. At the Elma Agac stand, customers will find fresh fish, seafood and fish rolls. When the hunting season starts in October, Maximilian Schwarzbach from Germering wants to be represented at the weekly market with his “Der Wilde Max” game specialties. The game meat offered by him is shot by hunters from the area around the Five Lakes region in his presence in order to meet his special processing criteria. Because with the “Wilder Max” there is no driven hunt and no baiting.

It took a good year before the Hechendorfer weekly market can soon start. The idea came up again and again - but so far without success. The trigger for another attempt was the local development process, in which the Hechendorfer campaigned for a local weekly market. "The Seefeld Citizens' Association has taken up the wishes and started implementing them," reports Johanna Senft. It was not that easy, because the Fieranten wrote to have some problems, especially in times of pandemic. “Some cannot find staff. Others couldn't find a sales car, ”says Senft. Everything could only be fixed three weeks ago.

The weekly market was originally supposed to take place on Saturdays, but the Rainer butcher's shop has no time on that day.

“We found a favorable date on Friday afternoon,” believes the market team.

Everyone also hopes that the location in front of the Bürgerstadl will stimulate the district.

"We would be happy if a casual meeting for the people of Hechendorfer takes place here," says Senft.

There are already quite a few ideas for this.

Citizens should be able to sit together and chat over coffee or veal sausage on Fridays.

Various handicraft offers for children are also being planned, which Petra Schwienbacher from the Bürgerstadl wants to organize.
