(CNN Spanish) -

A Colombian judge issued preventive detention against three men who allegedly participated in the murder of a police officer during the protests at the end of April in Soacha, Cundinamarca, reported the Attorney General's Office.

The detainees were accused of aggravated homicide in competition with qualified and aggravated theft, as well as illegal possession of firearms, although the judge did not accept the last two charges, the Prosecutor's Office reported in a statement on Saturday.

At the moment, it is unknown how the detainees declare themselves before the accusations or if they have lawyers to defend them.

CNN sent a message to the Prosecutor's Office seeking more information, but no response was received immediately.

According to authorities, the detainees were identified after reviewing security camera videos and obtaining testimonies, physical and forensic evidence, although no further details were provided.

What happened?

This says the Colombian Prosecutor's Office

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Captain Jesús Alberto Solano Beltrán, head of the Criminal Investigation Section (Sijín) of the National Police in Soacha, documented with his cell phone on April 28 “the excesses and recorded the way in which protesters tried to destroy an ATM of a bank entity.

While filming, Solano ran to safety "from the violent reaction of the crowd," the statement said.

About 20 people chased the policeman, "including the three defendants, who allegedly reached him, beat and attacked him with stones and sharp weapons, which led to his death," the document explained.

In addition, he was stripped "of his belongings, including his endowment weapon," added the Prosecutor's Office.

It was not explained whether these items were found.

Solano died on April 30 due to the severity of his injuries, the Prosecutor's Office indicated.

Deaths and injuries

The death of the officer is one of 27 that have been registered since April 28 in the country, after protests began against a tax reform proposal promoted by the government, which was later withdrawn.

There are still clashes and road closures in various parts of Colombia.

As of Saturday, 364 civilians and 41 members of the public force injured during the riots were also reported, according to the Ombudsman's Office.
