Due to the large projects, the asset budget of the municipality of Pähl is growing strongly.

For the new construction of the town hall, money will also be taken from the reserves.

Pähl

- Six years ago the budget in the municipality of Pähl was 5.1 million euros, this year the budget provides for 10.2 million euros.

While the administrative budget increased by a good one million euros during this time, the asset budget grew by four million euros to 5.6 million euros.

The reason for this are the planned major projects - especially the new construction of the town hall (we reported) is having an impact.

According to treasurer Thomas Singer, who presented the figures at a preliminary discussion at the previous meeting of the municipal council, the municipality will probably have to withdraw 4.1 million euros from its reserves to implement its major projects this year. In 2022, a further 1.6 million euros should come from the reserve. According to the plan, an allocation to the reserve will not be possible until 2023. However, it is likely that not all projects can be financed from the reserve. The originally planned special repayment of a loan will also have to be canceled so that the money is enough for the big projects. Among these are the new town hall (1.6 million euros), the planning of day care (254,000 euros), the purchase of land for the local model on the Kapellenfeld (827,000 euros),the purchase of a municipal vehicle (150,000 euros) and road construction (217,000 euros).

The largest item in income this year will again be participation in income tax. However, this will be less than two million euros after having been above this mark for two years. The income from income tax roughly corresponds to the district levy that the municipality has to pay to the district. Mayor Werner Grünbauer does not anticipate that the district levy will decrease because the district budget is “at the limit” because the district has to work through an investment backlog that has formed over decades.

Pähl is "financially very good," said Grünbauer on the situation of the community.

Nevertheless, the budget was drawn up "relatively cautiously" because it is not yet known "what influence Corona has".

Borrowings are not planned for the current year, nor are any commitment authorizations.

The cash credit for making payments on time is limited to 450,000 euros.

The assessment rate for property tax A is 330 percent, that for property tax B and trade tax is 350 percent.

The budget charter comes into force on January 1, 2021.
