"The litany of the dead at work is a long, very long litany. It is a litany that goes on every day without stopping. Two or three victims a day. Something unheard of. Unacceptable. Things need to change".

This was said by the bishop of Pistoia, Monsignor Fausto Tardelli, in the homily at the funeral of Luana D'Orazio, pointing the finger at the scourge of accidents at work.

"Now we are here around the mangled body of Luana. Her story has moved the whole town - said Tardelli -. But her mangled body is here in the name of all the other mangled bodies every day in the workplace. Unfortunately we live. in a world at the mercy of emotions that turn on and off in a moment; in a world that lives on the wave of the immediate, often conditioned by the media. And we are all immediately distracted by a thousand other things that easily end up justifying our inertia ". "Luana and all the others, but today they are standing here, standing in front of us - he added -: they look at us, they observe us and ask us for an account: they tell us that strong emotions are not enough, it is not enough that we are moved for a moment: commitment and responsibility, concreteness, determination and courageous choices; things need to change ".

The mass will be officiated by Bishop Fausto Tardelli.

The actress Monica Guerritore was also present at the funeral.

"Luana, out of a great sense of responsibility, maturity and strength, has put somewhere this dream of her to be an actress, to take care of her child, to take care of her mother, she thought of having a safe job. the sense of how strong young people are, more than we sometimes think. Instead this security, which she thought she had, has been betrayed by those who, out of sloppiness, through carelessness, did not save the life of a young woman "said the actress accompanied by her husband Roberto Zaccaria, before entering the church of Cristo Risorto in Agliana (Pistoia), where Luana D'Orazio's funeral is held. "So for this dream that she had - she added -, today, representing all my fellow actresses who have called me, today Luana will have the world she had loved beside her for a while, the world of entertainment ".
