2021: the year of the S
Originally, the year lettering system was not intended for felines, but for dogs.
Rule established to organize more efficiently the Book of French Origins (LOF) which traces since 1885 the births of purebred dogs.
Later adopted for cats, this alphabetical classification excludes letters deemed too difficult such as: K, Q, W, X, Y, or even Z.

Please note that this obligation only concerns purebred animals, whose owners wish to be listed in the LOF.
In all other cases, you are welcome to choose a name that begins with another letter.
