Injured after an argument in front of the Al-Aqsa mosque

On Monday morning there were new clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
Images transmitted on the Internet showed police officers using stun grenades, tear gas and rubber bullets against stone-throwing Palestinians in front of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
A police spokeswoman said the police would not allow "extremists" to endanger public safety.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, dozens of people were injured and 50 of them were taken to hospitals.
Israel celebrates Jerusalem Day on Monday.
The country is celebrating the conquest of the Arab eastern part of Jerusalem, including the Old City, during the Six Day War in 1967. For fear of violence, the Israeli police banned Jews on Monday from visiting the Temple Mount when flag marches through the Old City.
The Palestinians see East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state of their own.
The situation has been tense since the beginning of Ramadan
The Temple Mount with the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aksa Mosque is of outstanding importance for both Jews and Muslims.
It is the third holiest site in Islam.
At the same time, there used to be two Jewish temples, the last of which was destroyed by the Romans in 70.
The Western Wall is a remnant of that ruined temple and the holiest place for the Jews.
The situation in the West Bank and in the Arab-dominated eastern part of Jerusalem has been tense since the beginning of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Around 300 Palestinians and around 20 police officers had been injured in violent clashes in Jerusalem since Friday.
On the previous two evenings, there had been clashes on the Temple Mount and in other parts of East Jerusalem, in which hundreds of people had been injured.
