Who will remember, on the opening day of the Hôtel de la Marine, that it almost turned into a luxury hotel complex or a gastronomic palace?

The building and its interior have come a long way, and its history has not always been a smooth river.

Built by the architect of Louis XV, Ange-Jacques Gabriel, the building was originally used as a royal furniture repository.

Furniture, tapestries, carpets, weapons, bronzes and crown jewels are stored there, and can even be visited by Parisians on certain days of the week.

Homeric battles
