This little boy took the subway to buy a gift for Mother's Day and never came back

Brandon Giovanni took the subway that collapsed a week ago in Mexico City. "I have a surprise for you," she told her mother on her last call.


Brandon Giovanni Hernández Tapia, the 12-year-old boy who died when the Mexico City subway collapsed a week ago, left that day with a secret motivation: to

buy a gift for Mother's Day.

When his, Marisol Tapia, called him on his cell phone around 10:15 pm, the little boy said:

"I have a surprise for you."

"Dinner is ready," her mother told her.

"I go quickly to the store to buy something to drink," he added.

"Mom, buy me some cookies!" Her son replied.

It was the last time they spoke: a few minutes later the metal beams that supported Line 12 of the subway gave way with the boy and his stepfather inside - he survived.

The minor was fired last Wednesday at an emotional funeral in which his small white coffin covered in flowers was exposed along with a photo of him in which he appears smiling.

Dozens of relatives and neighbors attended the wake.

His mother rushed crying on top of the coffin while crying disconsolately: "My son, do not go."

The minor's loved ones gave him a final applause, sang a baton to him and took out the coffin shouting
